2023 also marked the return of Team Cofidis to the top step of the Tour de France podium with not just one but TWO emphatic tour victories from Victor Lafay and Ion Izagirre and it heralded the ascendance of a new French champion to the throne when emerging talent Victoire Berteau stormed to victory at the French Road National Championships securing the tricolore maillot for her and the team!
With the triumphs of 2023 behind us, it is time to look ahead to the goals of 2024 and we caught up with Team Manager Cédric Vasseur at the Team Cofidis presentation to get his thoughts on the coming season: “The Cofidis jersey is now one of the most popular jerseys in the peloton. We need to make people appreciate it even more in 2024. The victories of 2023 have whetted our appetite for 2024.”
This year we will once again be proudly supporting the Men’s, Women’s and Parasport teams with our range of high performance bikes and pedals across the Road and Time Trial (TT) disciplines.
On the road, and cobbles, riders will predominantly use the 795 Blade RS fitted with CORIMA WS EVO 47 wheels, but don’t be surprised if from time to time you also spot them on our legendary 785 Huez or sporting the unmistakeable CORIMA MCC EVO wheels in the mountains. With a national championship win came not only a new jersey but a bike in French livery and we were delighted to present Victoire with her unique 795 Blade RS. In 2024 Victoire intends not only to defend her crown but has her sights set on a bigger prize at home with the Olympic Games taking place in Paris. One to watch for 2024, make sure you keep an eye on our channels to see how Victoire gets on . . .
When it comes to TT, riders will battle against the clock aboard the Time Conqueror that is the 796 Monoblade RS. Fitted with high performance full disc and baton wheels from CORIMA it is the ultimate weapon to beat the clock. In 2023, former French ITT champion Benjamin Thomas once again proved his time trialling prowess, piloting the 796 Monoblade RS to victory at the 4 Jours de Dunkerque TT.
Securing the rider to their bike will be our Keo Blade and Keo 2 Max pedals. With access to the full range of our premium pedals, personal preference of the riders often determines which pedal they choose and when they clock up thousands of km per year, it is imperative that the riders have complete confidence in the durability and performance of their pedals race after race. As the creators of the first clipless pedal in 1984 we are incredibly proud to remain the industry leader trusted by high performance athletes and recreational cyclists around the world.
Claiming 38 victories across the Men’s, Women’s and Parasport teams 2023 proved to be a highly successful season for Team Cofidis. With the 2024 race calendar starting in less than a week at the Santos Tour Down Under we can’t help but ask if Team Cofidis can make this another year to remember. We think they can, do you?!
