Last October, LOOK Cycle announced a triumphant return to the World Tour alongside Team Cofidis, forming a 100% French collaboration at the highest level of professional cycling. 2023 is upon us and we are incredibly excited to begin what promises to be a spectacular season.
Since our beginnings in the cycling world, the LOOK heritage has always been intimately linked to the professional ranks. The automatic pedal was pioneered at the 1985 Tour de France, assisting legend Bernard Hinault (La Vie Claire team) to victory, before we launched the revolutionary KG86 frame the following year.
It was on this original carbon road bike that Hinault and Greg Lemond battled it out on the merciless French roads, setting the tone for years and victories to come. Frenchman Laurent Jalabert most notably rode LOOK bikes to 111 wins between 1989 and 2002. We returned to the World Tour in 2006 with Credit Agricole, before embarking on a fruitful partnership with no other than… Team Cofidis between 2009 and 2014.
For LOOK, the World Tour has always been more than just a competition: it is a source of pride and a way of showcasing our company's commitment to innovation and excellence.
From pedals to frames, we are honored to have contributed to some of the biggest achievements in cycling history and are excited to return to the World Tour alongside Cofidis, a team we have already shared memorable moments with.
As of 2023, the Cofidis men’s UCI World Tour, women’s Pro Continental and UCI Paracyling teams will be riding LOOK frames and pedals as well as CORIMA wheels in what promises to be a thrilling long-term partnership, committed to elite performance but also to bringing cycling to a larger and more diverse community of riders and fans.
“We are particularly excited to contribute to diversifying and expanding the community of riders by supporting the professional women’s team as well as the development of the para-cycling team. Promoting ‘Made In France’, French know-how, and LOOK’s heritage of excellence alongside a team as prestigious and historic as Cofidis is a real honor.”
Federico Musi, CEO, LOOK Cycle & CORIMA
We are finalizing the development of several future bike platforms with the Cofidis Team. The team is currently riding road and TT prototypes, approved by the UCI.
As with all bikes, the development timeline is long and involves computer, lab, and in field testing. We utilize aerodynamic studies to optimize ride feel, aerodynamics, weight optimization, and other key attributes. The teams offer us a safe environment to finalize development.
We will be sharing more details in the months to come, stay tuned for technical specifics, model line up plans, and our go to market schedule.
“We are excited to give our riders the opportunity to ride LOOK bikes for the next few years. LOOK has become over the seasons one of the most emblematic brands on the market and this new partnership is an additional step in the development of our Cofidis team towards the search for Performance. […] We are delighted to open a new chapter with LOOK bikes from 2023 by continuing our quest for victories at the highest level.”
Cédric Vasseur, General Manager, Team Cofidis
The return of LOOK to the World Tour is a momentous occasion for us, and we are thrilled to have the opportunity to once again put our pedals and bikes to the test on the World Tour stage. Let 2023 begin, and stay tuned for exciting new developments and results!
